We're always "geeked" after returning from conferences and other events, but InsurTech Hartford Symposium 2024 really was chock-a-block with meetings, teachable moments and more surprise guests than a celebrity roast.
Hosted this year at Mohegan Sun Casino and Resort in Uncasville, CT #IHS2024 offered further proof that it’s always smart to bet on the Purple People to solve your unstructured insurance data challenges.
Headlining the event for us was the panel discussion, “How AI is Changing Underwriting,” moderated by Dawn Walker of AM Best and featuring Jennifer Krawec of Liberty Mutual, Beazley’s Sarah Lamberg and our own Chaz Perera.
During this session, the group explored topics ranging from the power of AI to reshape insurance operations to why insurance leaders should be running toward embracing AI (and not away from it) and – perhaps foremost – the immense value of information locked in unstructured documents (as well as the prohibitive cost of misunderstanding this data).
Elsewhere, the Symposium was buzzing with ideas and brimming with evidence that insurance is, for all intents, being driven by insurtechs that are helping insurers make good on their digital business transformation commitments. Among the many panels and roundtables were conversations on the need for effective leadership in insurance data and analytics; the massive trove of data generated by battery electric vehicles and its implications for personal auto insurance; and a Verisk roundtable on AI data.
Dropping by the booth was our good friend, Melissa Collette of Insurtech UK, whose support and insights helped make our Women in Insurance campaigns a huge success (we’re honored to again be a sponsor of the Women's Leadership Forum at ITC Vegas 2024. Have a look at what we did there in 2023). Also stopping in to get a peek at the future of insurance underwriting and claims management was Insurtech trailblazer Frank Sentner (seen here with our own Nick Carter), and InsNerds’ “magic man,” Tony Canas, who was at Mohegan Sun to receive InsurTech Hartford’s “Making Waves in Insurance Innovation” honors.
Beyond being at the literal crossroads of InsurTech Hartford Symposium (okay, we had a great spot), the Roots Automation booth conducted customized demonstrations of our Digital Coworkers, Stuart and Roxanne.
Stuart showed underwriting leaders what could be possible with 90% more data extracted from broker submissions, like how their businesses could decrease time-to-quote while increasing capacity for high-demand times. Not to be outdone, Stuart’s colleague, Roxanne demonstrated the skills that have helped Roots customers realize >650% ROI within eight months, including processing 99% of FNOL correspondence straight through.
(We mentioned Stuart and Roxanne are powered by InsurGPT™, the world’s most advanced Generative AI model for insurance, right?)
We invite you to download our whitepapers to learn how AI for claims and underwriting can help your business master today’s hyper-competitive insurance markets.
