Attendees at CLM Annual Conference 2024 in San Francisco from April 2 - 4 had a window into the insurance industry’s future. (Spoiler alert for those who didn’t attend: it will be AI-powered.)
Consistent with this year's Annual Conference theme, "Claims Unleashed," were numerous sessions, roundtables and addresses addressing AI-related topics.
Notably absent among these discussions was the question whether to step up to AI automation for claims handling. Instead, the conversation was about implementation and the impact of unleashing the power of AI.
The latter topic, impact, came up in some of the best-attended sessions on cyber-liability (especially around HIPAA compliance), regulation of AI and avoiding bias in A training. But top of mind for everyone was how AI is remaking the way insurers manage and process claims to improve bottom-line results and the customer experience.
For us, the highlight of the event was the chance to engage with visitors to our booth. The Purple People were running non-stop showing and telling how Roxanne, our Digital Claims Assistant – powered by InsurGPTTM – is handling 70% of claims straight-through and processing claims documents with greater than 95% accuracy. During dozens of customized demos given during the event, claims leaders were astounded by Roxanne’s ability to ingest, extract, index, classify and file data from First Notice of Loss (FNOL) and other documents with amazing speed and accuracy.
Don’t believe it? See for yourself. Click the window below to watch Roxanne in action.

Other highlights?
Seeing Justin Willman, star of Netflix’s Magic for Humans and The Magic Prank Show, who performed the second-most amazing feats on display (next to Roxanne…) and connecting with new friends, including Jon Egurrolla, VP and Managing Director at Crawford and Joe Loya, VP at Crum & Forster.
At CLM Annual Conference, we again experienced first-hand how AI is transforming the insurance claims world. Being able to share our vision of how insurers can lean into an AI-powered future is what drives us to build better tools like Digital Coworkers to make insurance work more efficiently and effectively.
Big thanks to The Institutes and CLM for creating a showcase for the latest advancements in claims management.
Look for us at our next stop, InsurTech Hartford Symposium, April 17-18.
